An Atlanta-based studio whereOffsetwas recording was shot up on Wednesday night (May 8),TMZreported today. Thankfully, the Migos rapper was not injured in the shooting—but at least one witness on the scene is of the belief that those bullets were meant for him.
Witnesses say the shooting occurred just after Offset had briefly gone outside. He had returned inside and was recording when the bullets rang out around 9 p.m., and though he was not hit, it’s being reported that at least one other person may have been shot in the leg. Police have been unable to locate the alleged victim as of yet.
The bullets did cause some damage, however. Three vehicles were shot in the melee, as well as the building’s exterior and at least one apartment window. Sources have confirmed to the celebrity news site that there is surveillance footage of the entire incident, so hopefully it will help police find the suspects.
As for Offset, he was reportedly gone by the time cops showed up to investigate and has not yet spoken to any law enforcement about the incident. They will likely get in touch with him in the near future, however.
This comes after a tumultuous few weeks for Offset. He was recently hit witha felony arrest warrantfor smacking a phone out of a fan’s hand at a local Target, as well asthree charges stemming from his July 2018 arrest–one of which is a felony charge for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
XXLhas reached out to Offset’s team for comment.
